For now I'm going to leave my vote on DV until he at least provides something of an opinion or stance.
As for Scarf, did anything happen? It seems like something positive, so I'm guessing you were enhanced somehow?

@Supreme Overlord
You're reading *WAY* too much into everything. (Though I suppose that is the name of the game.) Our 3 'quick votes' had a perfectly good reason, even if my own understanding was flawed. I hadn't known that a replacement would have happened, and for the love of GOD how was I supposed to know that anyway!? Ask TKoE out of game? For that matter, how did YOU know that he had a replacement lined up? I thought outside information was verboten!
And of course I didn't actually think he was mafia; at least not until I saw you defend him so vocally. That's very suspect, to me, and thus I vote for you. Sorry, but you haven't convinced me that you aren't defending a mafioso (I would vote for DV, but there's a solid chance that you really are just bonded to him.)
And, I can't speak for Darth Skywalkerbacca, but he wasn't talking about your vote when he was referring to overreaction, but your whole argument and general hostility.
Honestly, I think I might just be hungry... I'll have a clearer head after dinner, and maybe then I'll pull my vote from you. Sorry for my inexperience.

I'll get back to you on that... no comment so far.
But, "A beast older than time roars it's displeasure"? That doesn't sound entirely positive :/

I'm going to assume he looked at the signup thread. Where I told Boot he'd be a replacement if I needed one

Re: Mindscrew 4 Revenge of the Mod {Day 4}
This is how I knew Boot was available for replacement (from the signup thread):
So Scarfalot, if you read Sid's posts and see him go from 'we've probably got enough evidence' to 'Vote: No Lynch' to (Darth votes Dark Vessel) to 'Vote: Dark Vessel', can you see where I'm coming from that he's wishy-washy and just going along with whatever's an easy target?
(I'm not really taking his unvote as evidence one way or the other, since it's good to not vote an inactive and let them catch up, but it's bad to switch away from a vote the instant someone calls you out on it)
[Eggs: shut your face. I got this.]

I'm afraid all positions have been filled. You're in as a replacement if anyone should quit.

Re: Mindscrew 4 Revenge of the Mod {Day 4}
@Overlord: random lynches Day 1 are only good for information and perspective but at risk of turning some win cons into an uphill battle. indeed i forgot we have a backup player but in the case where there is no reserves Day 1 Lynch of innactive player is similar to a no lynch in the sense that if the player hasn't contributed yet you can assume that they are unlikely to contribute to the rest of the game, and in a good game design the possibility of anyone lynched D1 should be considered and thus as said earlier in this thread D1 is hardly going to stuff up the rest of the game.
the obvious difference between a no lynch and lynching an innactive player is the possibility of a flip and thus information.
the only reason i can think of why a no lynch would have suited better is if we were hoping he returned( mainly for a hopeful advantageous ability), or to give hostiles an extra target ( not that they're likely to target an inactive anyway ). unless his existence is advantageous to a reward/win condition then those with such conditions would seek to keep him out of the light or at least in the game
as for my passing comment on the length of the thread so far, i was trying to see if our new players see anything extra that i may have missed, it doesn't mean the evidence doesn't exist or that i'm trying to hide myself, i'm still undecided and since someone mentioned they'd prefer votes being put down rather than not voting i put forward the vote that represented my view on the game so far, until the more reasonable option came forward of gaining information from the lynching of an inactive player. as you see once his activity was bought to my attention i unvoted.

Re: Mindscrew 4 Revenge of the Mod {Day 4}
All lynches are only good for information and perspective, but risk making it harder to win. It's the risks we have to take - using votes and lynches as pressure to find scum. Lynching is a town power; no-lynching is us deciding not to use that power and letting scum have free rein.Sid_The_Kid wrote:@Overlord: random lynches Day 1 are only good for information and perspective but at risk of turning some win cons into an uphill battle.
I agree lynching Dark Vessel would be better than a no lynch. The problem I have is why you only decided to do it after Darth did.
So what's your view on the game now (ie lay down a vote)?Sid_The_Kid wrote:since someone mentioned they'd prefer votes being put down rather than not voting i put forward the vote that represented my view on the game so far, until the more reasonable option came forward of gaining information from the lynching of an inactive player. as you see once his activity was bought to my attention i unvoted.
Or Eggs has a poor grasp of dashes and spaces. Unless someone has information telling them it is actually supposed to be a negative number, or they have an ability to change them to positive again, there's not much we can do about it. If we wind up wagonning someone to majority and they don't get lynched, we might have to deal with the problem then.Horselord wrote:The votes are negative.

Re: Mindscrew 4 Revenge of the Mod {Day 4}
@Overlord - As Scarfalot said, I was not saying your vote was an over reaction, just the way you went about telling everybody to calm the hell down as if Dark Vessel was actually about to be lynched.
Unvote Forgot to do this before
People seems to be ignoring Scarfalot's upgrade as a whole, any idea's on what it could be? Let us assume for now it is player originating does anybody know a character or series this flavour could be from?

Re: Mindscrew 4 Revenge of the Mod {Day 4}
Well, I can confirm that I was indeed upgraded. Mod doesn't have access to his main computer for now, so he sent some of it to me through his Skype.
Unfortunately, I cannot reasonably say more... and seriously, this is Mindscrew! What can I possibly say that could really have merit? Maybe I'm a chicken, and now I lay golden eggs.
One thing that I am sure of is that I don't know where that upgrade came from; I did not use my reward yet. And mod generosity is ALWAYS a big red flag, I know that much :L

Re: Mindscrew 4 Revenge of the Mod {Day 4}
I see. Well, I still don't want to see four votes in a row on anybody, so I can't really say much except I stand by it.Darth Skywalkerbacca wrote:@Overlord - As Scarfalot said, I was not saying your vote was an over reaction, just the way you went about telling everybody to calm the hell down as if Dark Vessel was actually about to be lynched.
Scarfalot said he'd 'get back to us', so unless the person who did it wanted to claim, there's not much use in speculating - 'upgrading' is rather vague. 'Beast older than time' and 'roars' reminded me of Dialga of Palkia or whichever one it is, but that's likely just because of talking about Pikachu before.Darth Skywalkerbacca wrote:People seems to be ignoring Scarfalot's upgrade as a whole, any idea's on what it could be? Though 'player originated' is probably a fairly safe bet.Sir_Scarfalot wrote:One thing that I am sure of is that I don't know where that upgrade came from; I did not use my reward yet. And mod generosity is ALWAYS a big red flag, I know that much :L
Though Genie's magic could be 'pale blue', so it could be Sid. 'Upgrading' ... well, he did turn Aladdin into a prince.

Slightly unrelated, but I just realised your avatar is a Jedi pony and zi just want you to know you are now my best friend for life.
Also, he's totally a chicken that can now lay golden eggs, trying to hide the truth in sarcasm, one of the oldest tricks in the book.

@Overlord - I'm sure you wouldn't mind four people voting for a person if you had pointed out something that forced them to reconsider and become fairly positive that that person was scum. This isn't overly different.

Re: Mindscrew 4 Revenge of the Mod {Day 4}
Sunset message. We'd best be to lynching.
Sid would be my first pick, then probably Hachi. Not much on any of {jkinger, Horselord, Dark Vessel, Alex}. Darth and Scarfalot are doing pretty well. Reverse started off decently but has been quiet lately. If you want to try to wagon Cloud Kicker I'd be okay with that, though I'd be wary of getting him to majority ... and nothing happening, with deadline breathing down our necks. Eggs is also a possibility - I'd prefer that to no lynch.

Eh; I still wouldn't be happy with three people piling on one after the other. And there's a different between 'fairly positive is scum' and 'inactive'.Darth Skywalkerbacca wrote:@Overlord - I'm sure you wouldn't mind four people voting for a person if you had pointed out something that forced them to reconsider and become fairly positive that that person was scum. Re: Mindscrew 4 Revenge of the Mod {Day 4}
Nope no ability used by me. i don't even know my master my wishy-washiness is based on how my role is written, i have two external referenced "master" and "target". i see nothing in this thread that helps me see who these may refer to and as such i do go with the easy target cause i'm neutral and town should hold the majority thus if anything is to be decided it would involve at least part of the town. i assume that as the game progresses these shall be revealed.
PS: i doubt my abilities would specifically show as blue text i see no reason why the mod would change his style part way through a game unless it was player/role specified.
at request i shall use an ability to test this thesis

Re: Mindscrew 4 Revenge of the Mod {Day 4}
@ Sid - what types of abilities do you have? you don't have to go into specifics if you are afraid of mod justice which I would be is these were not granted but part of your role pm.
As it is I say we should probably wait for Day 2 to do that.
As for now I haven't got anything in my role about being a master or target just so you know, though I guess if you are a genie a lamp could be given out as a prize for one of Egg's random events.
So in the end I'n going back to Vote: Cloud Kicker because it seems to be the safest bet in not lynching somebody and getting information, I'm also going to pop a day action so lets see if anything happens.

awesome so that confirms that day actions are made public, that was and ability I had thought I'd use it as a test because I don't see how it could make much of a difference if he was already unlynchable

Yeah, I found that picture while I was looking for Lyra Heartstrings avatars for the >CLOP board. I saw her as a Jedi, and immediately clicked it like it was a cookie! Unfortunately, I haven't used it yet on the actual board; it just hasn't fit yet.

As for lynching... well, Sid says his ability is a lightning rod. Looking that up, it means that if he is telling the truth, then any detections on him would be suspect, as we'd end up with potential false positives.
Which means I call shenangians. What better way to deflect suspicion and surveillance than to cast doubt on our information? Good move in theory, but here's my response:
