Re: What song is in your head?
The literal trailer for 'Shark Night 3D' by Tobuscus. Another catchy, amusing one. Although, in these kind of movies, it baffles me why they don't just stay out of the water in their luxery mansion until they can call out a helicopter or something.
Blonde chick says hi
That guy says no
Wave
Laying out it's time to go wakeboarding
It'll be fine
There's no way that he'll die
It's a horror movie
Something tellks me he'll be fi-i-i-i-ine
'Cause it's a horror movie
There's no way that that guy's gonna die first-
I take it back
(Get down)
That guy died first
She can't believe
That that guy died fir-ir-irst
His best friend dives
And he brings a stick to the fight
Then he realises that he isn't bright

'Valentine's Day' by Linkin Park, from their album 'Minutes to Midnight'. Appears to be about a breakup, but recently I read that the lyrics make even more sense if you consider it to be at a funeral...
So now you're gone
And I was wrong
I never knew what it was like
To be alone
On a Valentine's Day...
So now you're gone
And I was wrong
I never knew what it was like
To be alone
On a Valentine's Day...

'Battle Scars' by Guy Sebastian ft. Lupe Fiasco. Generic, catchy pop tune with a bit of rap. Heard it on the radio this morning, then a few covers at TYME today.
These battle scars
Don't look like they're fading
Don't look like they're ever going away
They ain't never gonna change

'Hall of Fame' by The Script ft. will.i.am. The "be believers, be leaders, be astronauts, be champions, be true seekers" bit reminds me of Portal 2. First of all Aperture Science employs war heroes, Olympians and astronauts as test subjects, but later:
And the world's gonna know your name
Cause you burn with the brightest flame
And the world's gonna know your name
And you'll be on the walls of the hall of fame
Standing in the hall of fameCave Johnson wrote:You're here because we want the best, and you're it ...

Re: What song is in your head?
'No Light, No Light' by Florence + the Machine. I've had it for a while, but my attention was only drawn to it recently by a Steins;Gate AMV. Signature F+TM style with a calm opening and verses transitioning to a more intense chorus.
No light, no light in your bright blue eyes
I never knew daylight could be so violent
A revelation in the light of day
You can't choose what stays and what fades away
And I'd do anything to make you stay
No light, no light
No light
Tell me what you want me to say
No light, no light in your bright blue eyes
I never knew daylight could be so violent
A revelation in the light of day
You can't choose what stays and what fades away
And I'd do anything to make you stay
No light, no light
No light

The rather epic final song from 'Pitch Perfect'. I won't elaborate, as there may be spoilers, but I recommend the movie for its good music throughout.

'Apple Jack' by Dolly Parton. One of the country songs my parents used to listen to. Can be kinda sad (but not as bad as 'Me and Little Andy' *shivers*). And yes, of course it was triggered by the pony.
Play a song for me
Apple Jack, Apple Jack
Play a song for me
And I'll sing
Play a song for me
Apple Jack, Apple Jack
Play a song
Let your banjo ring ...
Play a song for me
Apple Jack, Apple Jack
Play a song for me
And I'll sing
Play a song for me
Apple Jack, Apple Jack
Play a song
Let your banjo ring ...

'In The Navy' by The Village People. Mum was listening to it this morning; and it's been with me all day.

'Summer (Where Do We Begin?)' by Phineas and Ferb, from the 'Across the 2nd Dimension' movie. It's Phineas and Ferb singing about summer, their favourite time of the year, so of course it's going to be awesome.
It's summer
Every single moment is worth its weight in gold
Summer
It's like the world's best story and it's waiting to be told
It's ice cream cones and cherry soda
Dripping down your chin
It's summer
Man, where do we begin?

Re: What song is in your head?
'Mom Look' by Candace, from Phineas and Ferb. Many of the Phineas and Ferb songs are great (who knew Ashley Tisdale could be so good if you'd only seen High School Musical?); but when they're singing about their own identities (summer for P&F; busting for Candace) it tends to elevate it even higher.
They built a submarine
A time machine
A haunted house that made me scream
Drove cattle through the mall
Built a giant bowling ball
Blew me up to fifty feet
A chariot dragged me down the street
(La la la la la la la)
Made their stupid clothes a fashion craze
Shoelace tips a household phrase
Shot me through a circus tent
Always asked where Perry went
A lava flow destroyed my face
A giant roller derby race
Thawed a caveman out of ice
Built a roller coaster twice!

Re: What song is in your head?
'Gitchee Gitchee Goo' by Phineas and the Ferb-tones from 'Phineas and Ferb'. (Have I been watching it a lot lately? Yes. Yes I have.) Incredibly catchy, since, well, that was what it was written for. Took most of the morning and half a dozen phone calls to get it to one-hit wonder status - but if you're willing to put in the work ...
Bow chicka bow wow
That's what my baby says
Mow mow mow
And my heart starts pumping
Chicka chicka choo wap
Never gonna stop
Gitchee gitchee goo
Means that I love you!

Re: What song is in your head?
Glad to oblige. Other people are allowed to post, though.
This is the only thread in which I permit myself frequent double (!) posts, since there's not really any conversation to speak of (usually).
Onto the next. 'Come Home Perry' by the entire Tri-State Area, from 'Phineas and Ferb'. Quite an uplifting song, to bring Perry home after he goes missing. Buford puts it best:
You know you are a boy's best friend
You're more than just a passing trend
You're like a treat from a candy store
Oh Perry
We love you more than ice cream cakes
We love you more than bugs and snakes
We love you more than all things mentioned before
Oh Perry
You're extraordinary
You're kinda short and hairy
The color of a blueberry
Yes Perry
So come home Perry,
Come home Perry
Come home ...

Re: What song is in your head?
See! It's not just me.
'Busted' by Vanessa and Candace, from 'Phineas and Ferb'. Probably the best song from season one, in my opinion. They're both great singers and it's hard to get a better song from Candace than one that's about busting - her very reason for existance.
You're gonna be busted!
I don't wanna put the hurt on you
But you'd better believe me when I tell you
That I've finally got the dirt on you
You're busted!
Yeah, she's finally gonna see the light
This is how it's gonna be when she finds out
That I was always right
You're busted!

Re: What song is in your head?
'Summer Belongs to You' by Phineas, Isabella and Candace from 'Phineas and Ferb' (of course). Strong contender for the greatest P&F song, and my personal favourite. Another one of those songs when they're singing about their very essence. It comes at the end of the 'Summer Belongs to You' special, in which they create a 39-hour day by circumnavigating the globe, following the sun on the summer solstice. This song makes an epic conclusion to the episode.
It's been a long, long day
And there were moments when I doubted
That we'd ever reach the point
Where we could laugh and sing about it
Now the sun is set on this
Another extraordinary day
And when it comes around again
You know I'll say ...
Tell me whatcha wanna do today
All we need is a place to start
If we have heart we'll make it
Cause we're not messing around
(We're not messing around)
Yes we can dream it
Do it
Build it
Make it
I know we can really take it
To the limit
Before the sun goes down ...
It's been a long, long day
And there were moments when I doubted
That we'd ever reach the point
Where we could laugh and sing about it
Now the sun is set on this
Another extraordinary day
And when it comes around again

Re: What song is in your head?
And now for something different, 'Make Your Own Kind of Music' by 'Mama' Cass Elliot, as featured in the opening scene of Lost's second season. A decent song, and very iconic.
But you've got to
Make your own kind of music
Sing your own special song
Make your own kind of music
Even if nobody else sings along

Re: What song is in your head?
'Everything's Better With Perry' from Phineas and Ferb, the 'Across the Second Dimension' movie. It's kinda unusual (for the ones I've been posting, anyway) in that it's not actually sung by a character. Regardless, it's still from Phineas and Ferb's perspective, about how having a pet playtpus just makes everything better. I particularly like how mundane activities such as blinking, breathing, and sitting in a chair are improved by Perry's very proximity.
We consider every day a plus
To spend it with a platypus
We're always so ecstatic
'Cause he's semi-aquatic
Our Ornithorhynchus anatinus
Brings smiles to the both of us
Life's never fuddy-duddy
With our web-footed buddy
When we're brushing our teeth
It's better
Tying our shoes
It's better
Combing our hair
It's better
Like we're a cheese sandwich and he's the cheddar
Blinking our eyes
It's better
Breathing in and out
It's better
Sitting in a chair
It's better
And taking a bath's just a little bit wetter!
Every day is such a dream
When you start it with a monotreme
He's duck-billed and he's beaver-tailed and hairy
(You know that he's hairy)
Everything's better with Perry...
