damn cheap ass nvidia geforce graphics card >
can you run it, star craft 2... fails cause my damn video card doesn't have t&l. Lets just ignore the 6GB RAM and the 5 G Hz CPU that could do that job :/

Re: New Computers
Uhh...sure.
Intel Core i5 2500k@4.3GHz (Edit: apparently it turbos automatically to 4.7GHz )
4GB RAM
Nvidea GTX 560 (MSI Twin Frozr II)
60GB SSD (flash hard drive)
1TB HDD
Does that suffice? You probably don't care about the power source .

Re: New Computers
Hmmm... I was looking around my PC properties, and apparently my "Windows Experience Index" comes to 7.6. Does anyone have something to compare? What is it out of?
Oh, and SC2 isn't that hard to run, my hardware runs it on extreme easily. Your CPU couldn't do the job though, it simply doesn't know how. The hardware T&L is pretty important.
Also: What silicon are you burning for 5GHz? Got some fancy water cooling, or are you just running it until it dies? 5GHz full time is death to most CPUs.
RAM doesn't actually help you much with any one thing, it just lets you do more things at once (exceptions include archive extraction, video encoding or large file transfers; assuming you have a fast enough storage medium that the RAM is the bottleneck).

Re: New Computers
'Windows Experience Index' is the lowest score your system gives it self for various things.
Processor: 7.4
Memory (RAM): 7.5
Graphics: 5.7
Gaming Graphics: 6.6
Primary hard disk: 5.9
My lowest score is 5.7 for graphics. therefore my WEI is 5.7
Go into performance information and and tell us your scores...
also the 5.0 GHz is it's effective speed when required. its not constant.
And T&L is only used to remove strain from your CPU... therefore one can assume that your CPU is capable of doing it by itself.

Re: New Computers
So my lowest is higher than your highest? Awesome
7.6 7.4 7.8 7.9 7.6
I retested and my RAM rating went down. Whatever. I had FF open though, whereas the original test probably happened during install. I'm pretty happy - it means I got a balanced system (no area way ahead or behind).

Re: New Computers
It is when you retest while firefox is running. The scores I used were retested, the statement about being higher used the original score (before I retested). The King of Eggs wrote:Alex Steiner wrote:So my lowest is higher than your highest? Awesome
