Sweet, Sweet Memories
Sometimes I sit and contemplate the good old time of yore
And the sweet, sweet memories of friends gathered
To enjoy the company of those like them
In this place we hold so dear
But as time progresses
So you fall into disuse
Your meeting halls lay empty
Exempting the occasional visit
From one revelling in your nostalgia
For though those who crowded your rooms are gone
Still the banter of friends long gone remains
And will always remain
For this place was special to what seemed like so many
And yet was so few
And all of them count themselves lucky to have walked these corridors
In the presence of good company
To have joked and played
But now
Though it is sad to say
You have become obsolete epitomised
Like countless before you
But you will live on as long as those who gathered inside you do
For you hold such sweet, sweet memories
For every soul you touched
May you rest in peace for eternity
