That post by anonymous pretty much sums up my ideas about if I ever felt suicidal. (In somewhat different language, admittedly)

Lights flash, sirens blare, initially you think it’s the cops and you almost chicken out but you realise it isn’t the cops so you pull out a gun and shot the person you care about dearly in head, killing them and effectively curing them of their brain cancer. You don’t feel guilt or sorrow you just feel numb because you’re a bloody psychopath what the hell is wrong with you, you sick bastard. You just disobeyed the law and that’s bad even if nobody ever finds out, laws are there for a reason whether you’re doing the right thing or not the law is the law and the right thing is subjective anything can become the right thing to do in the mind of a sick wack job like you.

CHOICE 19:

Boat You

It is 3011 you have long since died and been reincarnated, you are now a person living in some war torn country that hates American for bringing war to your country and who hates oil for bringing Americans to your country. But you have a family to support and suicide bombers don’t get paid overtime. I recent spate of fighting near your home town has provoked fear for the safety of yourself and your family, you’ve set aside some money dreading it would come to this, should you get on THE BOAT.

ROOM 1:
If you open Room 1 then you decide you need to get you and your family away from the fighting, the killing and the hate you jump on a boat and take your family to safety.

ROOM 2:
If you open Room 2 then you decide to stay put and stick it out this is your home god damn it and you don’t want to go to some other country knowing you’ll have to leave all your worldly possessions, your memories, behind.

I'm sorry, choosing room 1 will cause memory loss? (Literal thinking )

I'm sorry, but where's the moral dilemma? Particularly because this is completely hypothetical; we've been reincarnated, so we have no emotional ties to our home, worldly possessions and memories.

It's a simple, and therefore boring choice. Room 1.

As you stand on the peir, unable to decide what to do somebody else decides for you and pushes you and your family into the water where you are promtly eaten by sharks. If only you had not considerd leaving your extremist sect you would not have become a target of their vengence and your family wouldn't have suffered such a painful, oh so painful death.

CHOICE 20:

An Arm or a Leg

You have foolishly gone outside and are now being attacked by one of the ravenous flesh eating squirrels that ate your father in a previous choice you have to distract it somehow but how.

ROOM 1:

If you open Room 1 you have decided that cutting off your own leg and throwing it away is the only way to distract the ravenous flesh eating squirrel for long enough for you to escape.

ROOM 2:

If you open Room 2 you have decided that cutting off your own arm and throwing it away is the only way to distract the ravenous flesh eating squirrel for long enough for you to escape.

Room 2. Either I am alone, or nobody is going to help me "escape".

This is better. I think I'm going to go with Room 2. I'll be cutting off my left arm, of course (it's my choice). I like the mobility associated with my legs, and I'm reasonably confident in my dexterity with my right hand. I think I can do more with only one arm than with only one leg.


By the way, is there one or more flesh eating squirrels? Your pluralisation is inconsistant. If there's only one, I'll cut off my arm and beat the squirrel to death with it.

That would be mean it's just a ravenous squirrel trying to survive in this crazy, crazy world and you come along and beat it to death with the arm you just cut off.

Better it than me.

lights flash, sirens blare a giant guillotine drops down and chops off your arm you throw it to the squirrel and run for it as fast as you can looking slightly off balance with just one arm but still it's a good effort especially with the copious amounts of blood running from your arm, and running is just making it worse; dear god it's horrible there's blood everywhere you're getting pale and slowing down and worst of all the squirrel has finished with the arm and has started following the trail of blood you collapse on the ground and the ravenous flesh eating squirrel takes it's time in eating you.

Moral of the story is chopping off a limb is never a good distraction

CHOICE 21:

Better You Then Me

Each Room has been separated into two parts with a glass wall, you stand on one side of the wall with somebody else you know standing on the other side, each side has a big red button on the wall if you press this big red button the other person will die and you will walk out unscathed. Just to make it fair for everybody these buttons activate on 24/10/2011 (next Monday) at 00:00 am. The question is would you kill a friend to save yourself fell free to discuss it in thread while you’re waiting.
