Mafia...

We need a New setup for mafia, I would be happy to Mod this next game.

Any Ideas?

Anyone heard from IICR? He should have graduated by the weekend.

Maybe prod some of the other inactives? Alternately, add some more?

Perhaps I'm alone in this, but I really prefer to have a Mafia team (which I've done in the last few games); with only a few players, that requires some way to stretch the game out. Mechanics that favour no-lynches and prevent scum piling on early are good for this. Overloading with powerf roles tends to make things swingy, but can also stretch things out; or at least give town more of a chance.

I recall a setup I was looking at a while back: 3 VT and a Mafia team of a goon and a 'jester'. Mafia wins if the jester is lynched and the goon survives. The goon has a kill. That turned out to have a 13/30 chance for a Mafia win, and 17/30 for town (duh), lynching randomly. So the setup would have to be tweaked a little to get the mafia percentage to/above 50%, but it could work.

Currently most games have favoured the mafia, meaning that it is not much of a challenge.

So having a setup favour town could be decent.

That's a good point. So what's the consensus on this setup (mainly Eggs, since he'd be the one running it)?

IICR had senior school as an explanation. It's holidays now, but he's not talking to me right now, so I don't know what's going on.

This game won't be starting till after new years guys... I will be V/LA till then, which is awkward. Also, everyone bitch at RS for me, he doesn't want to play :/

I'll be gone-ish over Christmas anyway, and no one likes to play online games when they can take to real people.
