Welcome to FiLlEr mafia!

Yes that's correct, I know we all want a quick game of mafia to whet our appitites... This is that game!

Set-up: we have 4 players and a mod signed up to play at the moment. So here is how I think this will work:

* THIS GAME IS NIGHTLESS: There are no nights in this game. In fact, there are no night actions either! Yes thats correct, the Mafia do not have access to their night kill.

* THERE IS NO MAFIA TEAM!: One member of the mafia must try and escape the attention of 3 town members!

*DAYS: Days will last about 1 week AKA 5 working days. (weekends don't exist...)

* ACTIVITY: With no night actions and no partner mafia could simply lurk the game away. However the players signed up at the moment happen to be the most active players we have how convenient! 3 days may pass between posts, after 2 days I will prod. 3 days without an explanation and you will be Mod Killed (DO NOT MAKE ME DO THIS )

* THATS IT!

Are we allowed to post on weekends?

Mines all fuzzy atm because I am using a tv as a monitor. Reading hurts my eyes.

This shouldn't be too hard to get a 1/4 with no night kills.

THIS IS NOT MINDSCREW

I found out today my monitor has a built in Gaussian blur option (and sepia, and monochrome). It also does autobrightness, adjusting depending on screen contents. All completely useless and annoying. Luckily it's damn hard to find and set, so not likely for anyone to do it .

How do you plan to identify the mafia in this game?

If its not stated assume standard newbie t9 ruleset

Well... I would expect mafia to pre empt a wagon, or ask a question similar to the one you are asking.

Vote: Alex Steiner I cannot think of another reason why you would ask that question. Other than to do the opposite so no one thinks you are scum.

I never 'plan' exactly how I will catch out someone being scummy. It is more of a game by game thing.

It was a serious question, asked because I wasn't happy with my answer to it at the time. Since there is no functional difference between a townie and the scum, I was not sure how to go about differentiating them.

Overlord brings up a good point about the "not fearing a lynch", which I'd missed, and I think that's the best way to go.

I'm not sure I follow how you associate mafia with questions/discussion/whatever-I'm-doing. Could you clarify your position?

Asking a question about how everyone plans on catching people out. This allows scum to avoid being detected. Or so they believe.

After playing a number of games with you I assumed you had a technique of how scum are caught.

If you want reference on how the guilty act when trying to be innocent, I suggest reading "RS MS" you know... the game where everyone was scum.

Exactly. I'd overlooked the significance of the win condition and total number differences. They both only affect the lynching mechanics you mentioned, (you know, the townie doesn't fear the lynch thing).

Other than that, the scum is functionally the same. We may as well be on Day 3 of a 3v3 twin-town circlejerk (or 3v3 no-kill scum/mason/otherteamrole circlejerk).

I like your "unless you're sure" addendum.

So, once we assumedly lynch a townie Day1 (it's fairly likely, 3/4, plus the scum being (subtly or no) on the wagon etc etc), what's the difference tomorrow? If a townie gets lynched then, they lose, same as scum would. I guess we have to look at the other potential difference, the "scum on the wagon" thing. How reliable do you think that will be?

What're Sid's thoughts on this?
