General Rules:
1. This is a game. Play to win, but also enjoy yourself.
2. This game only exists online. Keep all discussion in this thread unless your role PM specifies otherwise. In any case, do not discuss this game outside of a quicktopic, unless it is to me. Failure to abide by this rule may result in a modkill.
3. If you need to talk to someone, talk to me. I am always available.
4. You may not edit your posts. Don’t do it.
5. Bold anything you want me to see in thread.
6. All players can vote to lynch another player. You may vote for yourself. Votes should be cast in the following format: Vote: PLAYERNAME. If your vote is not bolded, it does not count. You may use nicknames and acronyms while voting, so long as I understand who you mean.
7. You may Unvote to remove your vote, but it s not required to change your vote.
8. You may Vote: No Lynch.
9. Lynching will require a majority of votes. No lynching requires half the votes. Once this requirement is met, the decision is final. No further unvotes will be counted.
10. Once a player is killed, either by lynch or night kill, they must stop posting in the thread. DO NOT post after your death is inevitable.
11. Deadlines are set at two weeks and are negotiable. If at deadline there is no majority, the player with the most votes will be lynched. If there is a tie, the day will end in a no lynch.
12. Nights will last for two days, or possibly longer if they occur over a weekend. All actions must be submitted before the given deadline. You may choose to submit ‘No Action’. If all actions are in, the day may begin early.

Game-Specific Rules:
12. This game is open night. All living players may talk during night, although no votes will be counted.
13. If any player has not posted for more than two days, they will be prodded. Weekends count as one day. If you have limited access (LA) to the internet, let me know, and you will not be prodded. If a player is prodded three times in a single game day, they will require one less vote to lynch for that game day and the one following it. If a player has not picked up a prod at the time of their death, they will not be respawned. Players are not required to post during open night, so prods will not be given out until the next day.
14. Non-town players do not have falseclaim abilities (yet, anyway). Since a sample Vanilla Townie role PM has been provided, however, all players may quote role PMs. Also, when the relevant win conditions expire, role PMs will be posted in thread. However, do not under any circumstances post game-relevant QuickTopic links.
15. At the end of night, all players who have left the game (via lynch, night kill, victory or loss) will be assigned new roles and respawn into the game.

Vanilla Townie Role PM:

Every player has a certain number of points. These points will be used for pretty much whatever I want. What’s important to you, for now, is how these points can be redistributed (and of course, anything you have in your role PM!).

Each person who participates in a lynch gains 2T(n+1-p)/(n(n+1)) points, where T is the number of points the lynched player has, p is the player’s position on the wagon, and n is the number of votes on the lynching wagon.
Example: Alice, Bob, Charlie and David vote to lynch Ethan, who has 100 points.
For Alice, 2*100(5-1)/(4*5)=800/20=40
For Bob, 2*100(5-2)/(4*5)=600/20=30
For Charlie, 2*100(5-3)/(4*5)=400/20=20
For David, 2*100(5-4)/(4*5)=200/20=10
Ethan has lost 40+30+20+10=100 points

Any player who successfully night-kills another player gets all the points they have left at the end of the night (allowing any other points-stealing actions to go first); this will allow night-killing players to gather points quickly, which also provides a motive to try to lynch them.
Other points-manipulating abilities, if any, will be detailed in role PMs or made public as necessary.

For the obvious reason.

OK, so I’m acting as a player in this game in addition to my moderating duties. I’ll endeavour to make it clear when I’m acting as a moderator and when I’m acting as a player (through judicious use of bold text, most likely).

In order to not unbalance the game in my favour with my mod knowledge, I’ve taken steps to ensure my neutrality. My role-based abilities and win condition are designed such that I can’t use my knowledge of the setup to gain an unfair advantage. I’ll leave you to try and outguess what abilities and win conditions that might be.

I hoping my presence as a player won’t overshadow the game, and I won’t be lording my knowledge over you ignorant fools. If I deem that to be a problem later in the game, I simply won’t respawn after I die.

Alex, what makes you think Walt is untrustworthy? Or is it just RVS new player targeting?

This is the first mafia where we have a significant number of people I don't know in person so It will be interesting to see how accurate my usually quite accurate accusations will be.

And in celebration of a new mafia on a revived resplect I will deign to vote this time (for the newbie I haven't voted in a mafia since the original, I always get lynched generally quite early in the game and my guesses as to roles are often correct) also I'm a townie and I'm leaning towards IICR as mafia.
