It might be an indicator that you screwed up and broke the rules somehow. It might be the result of a game mechanic. It might, in fact, be the same mechanic that appeared in the original Mind Screw Mafia.

Or, it might be that your Mod is a bastard Mod and is just placing "Rules Infraction" at the end of random posts.

Hey Reverse; long time no see. Welcome back!

Some housekeeping: Eggs is probably a player, there's likely a role hiding the rules, FoSes probably do something.

Now, if I know Eggs and/or Mind Screw, this will likely be a power-heavy game. Scum are going to be inherently well-coordinated, so I think it should be to the town's advantage to coordinate our abilities the best we can. With that in mind, I am proposing a massclaim of some sort - probably not a full one straight away, but I want to get something out there.

So, everyone should check their Role PMs and analyse each bit of information: if it was made public, how could the town use it for good; or how could the Mafia use it for evil.
If there's anything unequivocally good, claim it immediately (deadlines, voting rules etc)
If you're not sure, make a call yourself, but maybe err on the side of caution (you cannot unclaim what has been claimed)
If it's something good for Mafia (like claiming bulletproof) DON'T DO IT; keep that kind of thing to yourself

Also, for things that might help Mafia, figure out if you can claim them safely - like instead of claiming that you're a doctor, claim you know there's a protective role; instead of claiming masons, say someone can confirm you if necessary/you can confirm someone else. Do be careful with these, though; weigh it up carefully.

Afterwards, we can combine some of those pieces; say, if we know there's both an investigative and protective role, get the investigate to reveal themselves so the hidden protective can protect them.

Also, if you happen to know that Character X from Series Y is town/is scum/is something, don't claim that yet (it only give Mafia a hole to hide in); keep it to yourself until someone claiming to be that character claims.


Of course, to put my money where my mouth is, I do have stuff to claim under these guidelines. I'll just leave it for a post or two to get other people's opinions and make sure that nothing bad can come of the bits I'm intending to reveal.

Firstly I would just like to say, Thank you to The King of Eggs for bringing mind screw back. It was one of my favorite mafia concepts.

This is quite an interesting situation, because I normally am quite the idea of mass claiming. However in a mind screw game it's very hard to separate the lies from the truth in terms of said mass claim.

Hmm; I'm tempted to claim my character name so we can test that - it was one of Eggs' mechanics in the first Mind Screw and he was disappointed it didn't get used. I would need assurance that we would all mass name claim if it worked, though - we should be able to force scum to do it, since if they don't, we may not be able to lynch them, but they'll out themselves.
We shouldn't have to worry about being modkilled; Eggs knows the rules are hidden and has to be lenient, so long as you don't do anything really stupid, but posting your role PM or lurking.
